Code of Conduct for Swimmers and parents/guardians: I agree to follow the Lovettsville Dolphins Swim Team Code of Conduct. Swimmers or parents/guardians who violate this Code of Conduct will be addressed by the President of the Lovettsville Dolphins Board of Directors. Violations of this Code of Conduct by any swimmer, parent/guardian, coach of any level, may result in, but not limited to, a suspension from practices, meets and/or parental/guardian bans from the pool deck, or loss of coaching position. We expect all Lovettsville Dolphins swimmers, parent/guardians, and coaches to act in a socially proper and courteous manner at all times to coaches, parents, teammates, officials, spectators/visitors, and swimmers.
Code of Conduct for Swimmers: I will learn and abide by the rules governing the Lovettsville Dolphins Swim Team and ODSL. I will respect my teammates, coaches, opponents, meet officials and parents. I will be patient with myself and my teammates as we learn new skills. I will listen to my coaches and accept their advice and decisions with respect. I will win races and meets with grace and lose with dignity. I will be the type of a teammate that I want others to be.
Code of Conduct for Parents/Guardians: I will always be supportive of and encouraging to my swimmer, his/her teammates and coaches. I will respect team volunteers and be an active volunteer myself. I believe that the emotional and physical well-being of my swimmer is more important than winning. I will consciously remember that this is a sport for kids, not adults and act accordingly. I will never harass the volunteers, meet officials, parents or coaches. I will leave coaching to the coaches at all practices and meets. I will stay out of roped off areas at meets, designated for officials, timers and coaches. I will set a good example for my swimmer and his/her teammates in the way I act on the pool deck.
Code of Conduct for Coaches: I will always be supportive of and encouraging to swimmers. I will be patient with the swimmers when teaching new skills. I will respect other coaches on our team and assist them when required. I will respect the other team(s), their swimmers, coaches, and volunteers. I will set a good example for my swimmers and his/her teammates in the way I act on the pool deck. I will act in a professional manner.
