End of Season Meets

The ODSL league made changes to the method of conducting end of season meets starting with the 2024 season.

Divisionals: Swimmers from the teams in our division who have not qualified for more than one All Stars event will be eligible to compete at Divisionals. Swimmers who have qualified for two or more All Stars events are not eligible to compete at Divisionals. Swimmers at Divisionals that achieve an All Star qualifying time may compete at All Stars.

All Stars: Starting in the 2024 season, swimmers achieving a qualifying time during a regular season meet (or their Divisionals meet) will be invited to compete at the All Stars meet. Qualifying swimmers may compete in 3 events at the All Stars Meet. There is no minimum or maximum number of swimmers competing in a particular event at the All Stars meet.

Awards & Swimmer Recognition

At our end of season party, all Dolphin swimmers will receive a competition medal for competing with the team for the season. Additionally, we will recognize four male and four female swimmers in each age-group for their accomplishments in the following categories (swimmers will only be awarded one special recognition per season).

High point: The boy and girl from each age group who scored the most points in individual events (relays do not contribute to points for this award) for the team in their age group based on meet results will receive this award.

Most Improved: The boy and girl from each age group who has the highest percent improvement for the season will win this award.

Dedication: The boy and girl from each age group who has the highest dedication score for the season will win this award. The categories that contribute to this award are meets attended, event points earned, time improvement, and years competing with the team.

Coaches Award: The boy and girl from each age group selected by the coaching staff for exemplifying the Dolphins "Swim Strong" motto based on the following qualities will win this award:

• Have a positive attitude
• Strive to be the best
• Attend practice and be ready to get in the water
• Encourage their teammates to do their best, in and out of the water

The Sofie Davis “All In” Lovettsville Dolphins Award was created to recognize Athletic and Academic excellence and to encourage 15-18 age group swimmers to achieve excellence in both academics and athletics. It is presented to a deserving Lovettsville Dolphins High School Junior or Senior. The Award will consist of a $1,000.00 college scholarship and a trophy commemorating the Dolphin’s achievement.
